JULY 15: Maine Crime Writers “Making a Mystery: How the Stories Get Told,” Maureen joins Kate Flora and Sandy Neilly, 6 p.m., Belgrade Public Library, 124 Depot Road, Belgrade, Maine. Maureen’s hometown library! With intense audience participation, the three writers will build a mystery novel on the fly - or at least the plan for one. In the process, you'll learn how writers make the decisions when they create their books. Hilarity generally ensues.

AUGUST 24: Maureen and fellow mystery writer Sandra Neilly will be at the Designing Women juried craft and vendor show, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Longfellows Greenhouse, Puddledock Road, Manchester, Maine. Stop by to say hi, chat about mysteries, buy a book and get it signed, or even bring a book for signing. Lots of cool vendors, live music and food, too.

SEPTEMBER 5: Author talk, 5:30 p.m. Thompson Free Library, 186 East Main St., Dover-Foxcroft. Maureen brings her custom slide show to the area where her next book is set! Discussion of Maine, mysteries and more.
